Su´aad Pompom is the artistic world created by 
Su´aad Redan. As an arthistorian who studies the material culture of the late medieval period, with a focus on dress, jewellery and saintly imagery, these historic images seep into her own creative practice once she puts down her pen, and takes up her paint brushes. As a dress enthousiast, she has been fascinated by Duch folk dress, 19th century carte des visites and mid 20th century Holy communion dresses. Her work is therefore an ode to dresses with their ruffles and lace, their delicate handwork abstracted to bold forms, and the women who wore and wear them.
